LCS Brings Resident Voices to the Forefront Through 2026 Resident Consortium
Oct 02 2026LCS recently welcomed residents and community leaders from its senior living portfolio to Des Moines for its 2026 LCS Resident Consortium, an event designed to strengthen relationships, encourage open dialogue and ensure resident perspectives remain central to the organization’s decisions and priorities.
The day-and-a-half experience brought together two resident representatives and the Executive Director from LCS communities for meaningful conversations with LCS leadership and corporate team members. The Consortium provided residents with an opportunity to learn more about LCS, its commitment to the communities it owns and its vision for the future of senior living, while giving LCS leaders direct insight into the experiences, priorities and perspectives of residents.
“We want residents to know they are part of the process and the future of their communities,” said Kyle Exline, LCS Senior Vice President/Director of Operations Management. “There is so much evolving across the senior living industry, and bringing together residents from communities with similar experiences, challenges and opportunities creates a unique opportunity for them to learn from one another and share what they are seeing in their communities and across the industry. Just as important, it gave us the opportunity to listen, learn their personal stories and better understand how we can support them.”
Residents toured the LCS home office, had breakfast with employees, and heard presentations focused on LCS priorities, the evolving expectations of senior living consumers, and initiatives planned to enhance the resident experience. Residents also learned more about the behind-the-scenes resources and expertise LCS brings to its communities, from operations and development to wellness, hospitality and technology. Just as important, time was dedicated for residents to share feedback following each session, offering perspectives on how LCS initiatives and decisions affect their individual communities.
The Consortium concluded with a Taste of LCS culinary experience featuring three LCS Chef of the Year finalists paired with a local Iowa Master Chef to prepare a variety of menu items inspired by dishes served in LCS communities.
“We have a long-term commitment to our communities, our residents, and our dedicated team members. Building strong, meaningful relationships with residents is at the heart of that commitment, and a key part of continuing to deliver the experiences that make our communities so special,” said LCS CEO Chris Bird. “We hope residents return home with a greater understanding of LCS and feel empowered to share what they learned with their fellow residents. Ultimately, this experience was as valuable for us as it was for them, and it will help us continue to be better partners to our communities for years to come.”
