Second Place: Dining Innovation
The Heritage at Brentwood – Brentwood, TN

The SHN award recognizes The Heritage at Brentwood’s visionary transformation of its former marketplace into a new Corner Market, a vibrant café-style venue that now serves as a central gathering space for residents, families, and staff. The renovation is part of a multi-phase campus repositioning focused on revitalizing underutilized areas to better support connection, independence, and convenience.

Located at a key corridor intersection, the original footprint presented spatial and functional challenges. The design team maximized every square inch of the 850-square-foot space. The result is a seamless integration of retail and food service inspired by historic town cafés and boutique markets.  Signature features such as floral wallcoverings, boutique-style display shelving, and integrated digital menu boards enhance both character and functionality.

The new Corner Market stands as a testament to thoughtful, resident-centered design. It brings renewed life to the heart of the community and exemplifies how intentional spaces can foster daily joy and meaningful connection.
