LCS Development and Friendship Village Kalamazoo Celebrate Milestone for Campus Expansion and Renovation
Oct 05 2026LCS Development and Friendship Village Kalamazoo recently celebrated the topping out for its community expansion and renovation project. The milestone marks the placement of the final project beam and brings the community one step closer to adding new residences, enhanced care offerings, and expanded lifestyle amenities.
The expansion will add 76 new independent living residences and a state-of-the-art, 40-bed long-term skilled care center, designed as two distinct neighborhoods to provide personalized, resident-centered care. The project also includes a major renovation of the community center, which will create new spaces for residents to gather and introduce new dining options including a lounge, a fine dining restaurant with an exhibition kitchen, and expanded casual dining options, including a marketplace.
“Reaching the topping-out milestone is an important moment for everyone who has contributed to this project,” said Nick Herrick, Vice President, LCS Development. “We’re excited to see the community’s vision taking shape and we look forward to welcoming residents into these thoughtfully designed spaces next year.”
