Porters Neck Village Breaks Ground on Next Phase of Community Improvements  

Porters Neck Village in partnership with LCS Development recently welcomed community leaders, board members, and residents to celebrate the groundbreaking for Phase II of its community improvement plan. Porters Neck Village is situated on 58 scenic acres in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Phase II is part of a long-range master plan that will modernize the community by replacing 68 original Independent Living apartment homes with 67 newly designed, larger residences. The new offerings will include a mix of hybrid homes and a larger apartment building, thoughtfully designed to meet the evolving needs of residents.

“This phase marks an important milestone in our continued growth, and we are thrilled to break ground and get started,” said Pierce Carey, Executive Director. “We are expanding our residential offerings and strengthening our connection to the surrounding natural landscape—while supporting vibrant, engaged living for both current and future residents.”

The expansion will also introduce a standalone community space within a picturesque courtyard. Surrounded by a serene pond, walking trails, and expansive green spaces, the new amenity areas are designed to foster connection, wellness, and outdoor engagement. The project is anticipated to be complete by September 2027.

This phase builds on the success of Phase I, completed in 2023, which added 44 Independent Living residences along with new dining venues, a theatre/classroom, arts and crafts room, game room, and enhanced outdoor spaces.
